Review of Provincial and Territorial Program and Services in the Aquaculture Sector

This report provides contextual information to support the program of work, during the second mandate of the Commissioner for Aquaculture Development. In the preparation for this report, key informants in each of the provincial and territorial governments assisted in the identification, transfer and review of the materials. This report is organized into four major sections. Section one provides a brief overview of the types of programs and services that are being provided and makes some preliminary observations about the nature and extent of provincial offerings. Section two provides a summary of programs and services by type and by province. Section three provides a detailed review of programs and services in support of aquaculture by province. Section four provides detailed charts summarizing the information covered in sections two and three. This report provides a snapshot in time. During the preparation phase of this project, provinces were in the process of changing their descriptions of program offerings. The nature and extent of provincial and territorial programs and services will no doubt continue to develop in the short and medium term.
