The collection of reports and essays in this issue of Intercoast Network demonstrate that there is increasing convergence among the diversity of approaches as to how mangrove wetlands should be managed. The many voices and perspectives in this special issue reinforce that progress is indeed being made towards a stewardship ethic for these important and threatened features of tropical coastlines.
