This paper explores the topics of environmental and social sustainability and codes of best practice as they relate to shrimp farming in Latin America. It discusses activities which would improve the understanding of how to more effectively address the underlying causes of problems associated with shrimp farming, and to translate principles of sustainable shrimp aquaculture to tangible practice.
