Hard clams are bivalve mollusks that live in saline waters and cannot tolerate fresh water for any extended period of time.The hard clam industry represents 7 percent of all clams harvested but accounts for 53 percent of the dockside value. This document outlines the steps in clam reproduction and cultivation.
