Creation date: May 1997
The development of culture methods for yellow perch has sparked interest throughout the North Central Region (NCR). Many researchers and industry entrepreneurs believe that this species holds tremendous potential for aquaculture in the region, from both production and marketing perspectives. As a result, a substantial amount of research on yellow perch culture methods has been undertaken in the region in recent years. Economic research on yellow perch, however, has been more limited. The budget work reported in this publication is the result of an effort by Purdue University and the North Central Regional Aquaculture Center (NCRAC) to provide economic information on yellow perch production in ponds.
