In India, shrimp aquaculture suffered a serious setback in the mid 1990s due to viral disease that caused heavy losses and the industry is in the process of reviving. Farmers need timely advice for the maintenance of proper water and soil conditions to ensure the survival and growth of shrimp and also in disease management.
